So, would it be accurate to say that featureless rifles like the M1A, Ruger Mini 14, Garand, Kel-Tec Sub 2000 (if legal here now and w/o evil features), etc. will remain to purchase or PPT after 12/31/2016 and will also not have to be registered as AW?

Are there any other bills that would affect these rifles and similar without 'evil features' that we have to be concerned about this year?

+1. Newsom must not be allowed to progress any further. He is beyond bad for CA and the USA!

While I check this page frequently, sometimes several dozens times a day if a bill(s) are being heard, every few weeks while reading the California 2nd Amendment Political Discussion & Activism forum I realize focus is being lost, and I start seeing posts like "what should I get before the ban" and How do I register my AR15?".

This thread succinctly addresses this bill. It may need updates, but that's why it's being bumped and to get the importance of it back on the front page.

SOOooooo many of these bills are being ignored, forgotten or lost in the minutiae of how many Anti-2nd Amendment bills have been introduced this year, that it's exactly what these legislators have been hoping to do since the beginning - to create chaos, distraction, and an avalanche so cumbersome that most gun owners simply burn out, see it as futile, and go full-blown apathetic.

                We can't let that happen.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

The gleam, this one is donzo. Didn't make it out of committee in the house of origin.

                  Dead.

Correct - my mistake. I was looking at the NRA Members' Council website and somehow my eyes got mixed up with the rows. They aren't what they used to be...

                    Thanks.

No prob. The fact that we have such an assortment to even mix up is freakin' ridiculous in and of itself.

Just wanted to be clear for readers on a new page.

Looks like title has been updated now too.

                        Likely vote Monday-SB 880 (Hall) & others

I am unsubscribing from this thread because the majority of it consists of people b, m and complaining, and yes, venting, but no one gives much of an opinion or insight into substantive issues, but just whining about Newsom and what-not, for perceived problems with him as Governor years away. I'm tired of it.

Noone seems to mention that FOUR bills are likely to be voted on Monday, and we should contact the legislators. These bills have been rushed through and some have even skipped Appropriations Committee, and straight to the floor.

Check out this link and please show your support and contact the legislators Governor Brown NOW to veto these bills if they come to his desk:

It only takes a couple of minutes to fill out the form and you don't have to donate or volunteer for anything, but you should consider springing for at least the $20 for membership if you have not already done so. These FPC people show up and argue at the hearings by the Committee's and draft written oppositions to bills. It seems they do A LOT of work for us, and keep us posted as to what the Senate and Assembly are up to on mostly a daily basis!
