Unless the bulk of what it contained gets passed in another bill anyways, since there are like 47 near-duplicates of this bill
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

          We're safe...until next year.
Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

We will never be "safe" in California.

Even if they are defeated this year, they will all come back next year.
If they are again vetoed next year, they come back in 2018 and Gov Newscumb will sign them and help them write more.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

... So Gavin can sign it into law at that time.

I don't think Gavin can sign anything until 2019. Yes, everyone including myself has resigned themselves to the fact that he will be our next governor... but at least we have 3 years til he starts to do serious damage to this state.

It hardly matters since there are substantially identical bills still alive.

Someone should make a pinned thread that has a list of all the current gun-related bills and measures, a summary of each, and their current status, all in one convenient easy-to-read place. I know there's already a pinned bill index thread, but it's all broken up into different posts by different people and you have to click on each one and read all the pages to figure out where it's at, if it even says at all. Maybe I'll put something together this afternoon.

In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.

                            Something like this:

2016 Bills Index (with current status)

SB 869 Hill, 2016 - Remove LEO exemption for guns stored in cars
                            Last movement: 1/1/2016
                            Status: In committee

                            SB 870 D-Bag, 2016 - Ban scary stuff
                            Last movement: 6/1/2016
                            Status: Dead

SB 871 D-Bag's Brother, 2016 - Ban more scary stuff
                            Last movement: 6/7/2016
                            Status: On Governor's desk

                            etc...

                              Feel free.

I tried that a couple cycles ago. Turns out to be a lot of work come August, as things cycle more quickly, and the legislative web site cannot keep up, so the info to update such a thread is often a day or three behind.

The place to haunt is the Governor's web site, for the press releases about bills signed and vetoed.
