I know its an old thread but, I sure hope it passes....My little boy will be hunting with me during Archery season and I sure want to be able to carry a firearm for protection.

Certainly pro-gun bills are not pouring out of the building but they do exist and could use your support; there's more going on up here than most gun owners know (or care to know).

No, it can be whatever ammo is legal, including lead. You are not using the gun to hunt (very important in bow hunting) so the ammo doesn't have to be lead free. The full ban on lead ammo won't fully phase in for a couple years more, but right now, Big Horn Sheep must be taken with lead-free ammo and all hunting on CDFW property must be lead-free. Lead is still allowed in other cases for now (except water fowl). In addition we have to fill out deer harvest reports any time we take a tag if you get a deer or not. The paperwork just piles up. Regulation on top of regulation. They are slowly strangling hunting (happening in other states too).Comment
