Not yet...you know they're going to take their sweet time each and every step of the way. I wish they would have some guts and do what they want to do already. Nobody has any balls anymore.

This may seem totally off the wall and of base and I'm more asking for my own knowledge.

Could owners of gun stores in CA potentially file a class action law suit against the state citing significant damages due to restricted availability of products to offer? Would it offer any help in potentially forcing the courts hand to rule in our favor on this case because of potential financial liability on the states end?

No. They would be arguing that they are losing money because they are not allowed to do something that is currently illegal - not a winning argument.

Illegal only here pretty much, and shouldn't be, considering the same business elsewhere, across the state line can profit from such a sale, which should be a compelling argument

The limit is on the transfer, unless the purchaser is exempt. PPT and intrafamilar transfers are exempt. as well as moving into CA with it. As said it is legal elsewhere. If the firearm is really "unsafe", then LEOs should not be exempt and if it is not "unsafe", then everyone else should be able to buy it.

The legality of firearms in question is being challenged by *other* lawsuits.

With the exception of so-called a-salt weapons, the firearms are NOT illegal, it is ONLY a restriction on transferring the firearm.

... which results in a ban of acquisition by others (= illegal) .... including grand-fathered, legally owned, so-called a-salt weapons, IMO.

Is there a time limit by which the judge has to respond? Or do we just have to wait indefinitely for her?

To make a long story short, Yes, we just wait.

Hopefully it will be like no more than 6 or 9 months but there have been waits of more than a year. Extensive CalGuns threads analyzing how long the wait for a decision should be, including some heartfelt whinging and moaning.

                                We wait.
