Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Not allowed to purchase new now, but unless I'm wrong if you had one prior that you SSE'd or built then I believe it should be kosher once the AWB falls. They were fine prior with the raddlock, and are legal now with the break open options. Unfortunately all those cool MP5 clones, scorpions, B&Ts, etc. are still off limits. I was really looking forward to getting a Shockwave too.

A case was GVR'd at USSC which is NOT a decision but rather an order to the circuit court to "try again" while following a different set of rules.

The handgun roster will not be effected by the assault weapons definitions being eliminated.

Yeah but. There are AR pattern pistols available in California right now. Gunfighter Tactical, Juggernaut Tactical, Camdon Defense, and Franklin Armory to name a few.

Did you somehow think I was saying there were not?

Last round of briefs is due Monday (may be Tuesday due to holiday). Then it's up to Benitez to either require further briefing or write his opinion. No hearing is on the schedule.

I'm curious, why would the MP5 clones, etc be off limits? If the AWB falls, all the "cool" stuff like threaded barrels, magazines outside of the pistol grip, pistol grips in general, would all be legal. Do the clones have something else that would make them off limits? Obviously you couldn't buy new, but would there be an issue with possessing them?

I think he means buying them new now. If you already have one with a fixed magazine, or any type of pistol with assault weapon features right now, you would be able to convert them to a standard configuration without any fixed mag.

New or used, until the roster is eliminated you can't buy them unless you use one of the work arounds.

That's what I thought, but he addressed purchasing new in the first sentence of his response. Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything. The Sig MPX is at the top of my wishlist, but paying the current insane asking prices just to have a CA neutered version doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.

Yes, I was referring to purchasing new. I should have been clearer.

Better question is, when will he give his rulling? Than again he already did. So either he lifts the ban until an appeal is giving. Who knows.
