Whoa BBRAWS can finally remove the BBs? But we have to do this and send proof to DOJ or something?
Man the laws are so hard to keep up with sometimes...
Should i begin prepping some of my lowers to register for a new freedom week.Comment

Is this a big win or a small win of FPC?
Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced a major settlement agreement, inclusive of an injunction and consent decree, with California Attorney General Xavier Becerra and the California Department of Justice (DOJ) in Sharp v. Becerra, a federal due process lawsuit that challenged the State’s implementation and enforcement of “assault weapons” laws passed in 2016, including “registration disasters” such as failed DOJ systems.Comment

So, 120 day public notice period, 90 days to try again...looks like your AR can roam free for another 210 days, ~7 months. Hmmm....
And, the ammo-buy background check had about a 20% error rate.
Well done CA!
Well, it got Becerra able to fail up to a more prestigious Fed Gov position.
As I find myself saying way too regularly: competence is a rare commodity.Comment

What benefit was there to register your gun as an assault weapon?Comment

Retaining the banned features with the caveat of having to deal with the AW restrictions. EX: having a pistol grip and bullet button at the range but never being able to stop along the route to and from the range or letting a minor touch it.Comment

Ah ok. So still have to have the bullet button?Comment

I think if you were to go out of the AR realm, but stay shooting 5.56, a lot of Bullet button equipped guns have the bullet button located on a non-serialized lower. A Steyr Aug would be a great example of this. The bullet button is actually located on the stock (AR equivalent lower receiver), which houses the trigger grouping, magazine release, and bolt release. The "upper" is is the serialized part.Comment

If you have all the evil features, i.e. a regular AR-15, but have the new patriot button that makes the mag not droppable without breaking the top. That gun is still legal right?Comment
