72 hour food kit at walmart $25 on clearance

Stopped by my local walmart and grabbed a few of these in the clearance section. It came in a sealed bucket. I broke one open to see the contents. Nothing fancy but not bad for $25.

Pop one open and put it to the test, treat it like camping gear, I'm curious to hear the results.

In the pic the bucket label shows 'up to 20 years' if that's what you meant..

Nice for the price considering the inclusion of the pot, utensils and fuel.

                  3 days for $25?

                  Is that a good deal?

That seems high when you can buy the 30 day food buckets from costco for $100 and they have decent caloric value per entree (compared to some of the others like wise foods).

what is the actual potential of this kit that can be realized? the bold lettering on container states "72 Hour 1-Person Emergency Kit" and in smaller lettering "37 Servings" is printed.

That's a good find Joe. From time to time I would get good deals on Wally's clearance shelves from emergency pillar candles, Blackhawk holsters, camping fuel bottles, freeze dried food pouch, etc. Unfortunately it's not the same Wally. I have to check several on occassion.

Damn... how come you can't own a proper pistol or rifle mag in CA, but your Wal-Mart's carry better stuff?!?!

Looks like a good kit to leave at the office, or in the trunk of your car. Won't last very long in the car due to the heat, but seems to be an inexpensive all-in-one pack to plop places.
