    "Rebreather" Gas Masks?

Any one know the name of a rebreather style gas mask?
I'm new to the whole prepping scene, and I'm looking into different types of respirators, from what cheaper than dirt offers and other available items on the internet.

Question 2, how long does your average filter last in a gas mask?
    Thanks.

AFAIK, "rebreather" only refers to a type of scuba setup that captures your exhaled air, and may or may not recycle that air, or scrub the CO2 so it can be used again. Scuba itself is a self contained air system. And I think you need to be licensed to buy equipment. You can use a scuba setup as a gas mask, which is essentially what firemen use, but you have only a limited amount of air.
A "Gas mask" on the other hand, filters the air. There are some types that use a battery pack, and a fan to suck in air and blow it into your face so that your lungs don't have to be the sucking force.
Here is one that I know of:

However its only for woodworking situations and wont be all that effective against NBC threats or even smoke from fires. Perhaps there are some others like this that are true "gas masks".

Yeah, that's what I thought and I know you need special access to get your hands on one, I was just having a random thought on of the technology has been involved in gas masks yet. I found a few things on it but figured I'd come here to ask. Thanks
