    Square Foot Gardening

    Anyone doing SFG?
    I was thinking of it
started out looking into doing potatoes, and SFG looked interesting, wondering how time consuming it is, how much time needs to go into it and how often?
Is one hour, once a week good? does it all need to be watered daily?

I found a reference to potatoes using old tires, to get the bed built up over time, making it taller by adding another tire. Anyone done this kind of tower idea for potatoes, I was thinking of 1 or 2 plants in that style, possibly waist high. I like potatoes, so was looking for mid size baking potatoes. still not sure what seeds to get really.

Taters is one of those that aren't water practical, until the whole place goes to crap, a few $$ will buy 10lbs at your local MX market.
After watching WTC Bldg #7 being razed, and considering it's main occupants..

I stumbled onto this note while checking advanced weapons..
"911 = false flag. WTC 7 was brought down by demolition. 47 floors came down in 6 1/2 seconds - not hit by a plane. Just one of hundreds of absurdities that occurred that day. Wake up".

Yes I do. There a few on here who do. I dont always plant in grids but I use almost all of the principles.

I do it, but without the raised bed. One little 4x4 area.

Tomatoes and peppers give you the most bang for the space and have multiple uses.

Fertilize your tomatoes with coffee grounds. Nicely acidic.

I've also used 5 gallon frosting buckets you can get for free at any bakery or grocery with a bakery.

It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.

Tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, kale. 4 best veggies you can ever eat. Oh and spinach of course...Potatoes are very thirsty but if you want some organic select potatoes, than go for it.

Ive never used the tire method but it sounds good. Its just another medium to grow. You can use anything really

Strawberries work good but not much of a harvest. It depends though because 10x10sf can get you a good amount of SWEET berries. I just picked my first Strawberry of the season and its so sweet. Not like the imported crap we get now.

Bugs might become a problem but you can use worm tea both as deterrent to pests and a fertilizer.
