Facebook used to use non-ssl connections, and requires it now due to plain-text of everything (I believe including user and passwd) and people capturing logins and using them, which is why the Whitehouse policy does not allow FTP to update their webpage: http://www.zdnet.com/article/white-h...ite-shut-down/
