Whenever I stop by Yahoo to see what the Commies are up to, lately it's been 'heat wave', 'scorching summer', 'wildfires due to heat', ad nauseam.

Before that it was floods everywhere. It's almost like there's an agenda.

TBH, other than that, I haven't looked. The forecast for the next couple weeks is cloudy with occasional fog and highs in the mid 60's and lows in the 40's. I am getting tired of mowing the lawn. I look forward to not having to mow down the forest grass for 5-6 months. For now, I enjoy the wildflowers blooming.

We're still in the 'call before burning' stage. IDK, all the wood on my place is soggy. I watch a neighbor trying to get a burn pile going from the brush they've cleared after buying an overgrown abandoned property nearby and it's a pretty fruitless pursuit. It smokes a bit and that's about it.

Hopefully the fire season will be mild and the Commie arsonists will keep their matches in their pockets this election season. God willing.

Yep, fire patrol loomed large when I was shopping. I never wanted to fire patrol or worry about ten million nitpicks rules again. CARB was a royal pita for ag.... burn rules, emission rules, dust control rules, rules, rules, rules.

One thing I liked about the local area here is they mostly leave us alone and leave the forest management to the professionals in the lumber and logging industries, hence more mastication, control burns and generally consistent maintenance. Also, I notice our local utility stays ahead of right of way clearance. Given the extremes of wind we see, impressive. Then again, the local timber isn't a powderkeg waiting to light off. Little dead and dying, few insect infestations and generally very healthy timber. I hope we keep it that way
