Sadly every time an EV caught on fire it was a BIG story. Listen to some news enough and you'd think it was "all the time." Meanwhile reality some times catches up with you. Don't believe me look it up:

25 of 100,000 electric vehicles have caught on fire
1,530 of 100,000 gas vehicles have caught on fire and
3,475 of 100,000 hybrids have caught on fire

Search BING's AI program on how many electric car fires compared to gas care fires.
      1. Compared to what?
      2. At what cost?
      3. What hard evidence do you have?

Too bad I never mentioned a thing about EVs

My concern is related to first hand accounts of NON-EV related fires.

But thank you for your great value add to this thread.

I'd consider a dedicated structure if anticipating a substantial system, and one not adjacent to living spaces and/or areas where combustibles are stored. There's a lot of power in a stored electricity system.

Likewise, I didn't locate the 500 gallon propane or diesel tank next to the house; they were located a good distance away. Lots of stored energy in those, even if it's safe and proven storage. Both were back by the shop, at least 100'-125' from the house.
