Portland prepper mom on an e-bike

"Disaster Relief Trials, a 30-mile bike race wrapped in an apocalyptic post-earthquake scenario"

    Sort-of interesting:

The Pacific Northwest is due for a massive quake. I trained to help rescue efforts in the aftermath—by racing around the city on an electric kid hauler.

Yeah, last thing I?m doing during the Apocalypse is riding a bike. That?s an easy target. How far is one getting on an “e-bike” without power to charge it anyway?

Not "just" riding a bike, but riding a bike in town? Disaster. Easy to knock off, easy to snatch, many different hiding places to pop out from.

Although honestly, the real issue is being in town, not the bikes themselves. Out in the country you won't have to worry as much, and a bike could be an effective way to get around.

These Presido bubble mom's are deluded, naive and clueless. Does she have any idea what happens when the animals and thugs realize that the cops ain't showing up and the phones ain't working. But she's gonna ride 30 miles through a devastated city with no emergency services and she'll be just fine ? As Bugs Bunny said "what a maroon".

Having been in the middle of the LA riots and Northridge earthquake, the thugs are going to pass her azz around, steal everything and she'll be lucky to survive. Personally, I'd love to see her try.riding her bike through South Central during the riots, it would make for great TV from the helo circling overhead. SMFH at these arrogant & entitled morons.

What a great article and efforts by people trying to help bring others into the fold! Also, I like how this was about helping the community instead of just hunkering down. Eggs as a stand in for medical supplies...great idea!

Might be an idea for CERT members to bring up with their counties!

Huh, didn't think of bicycles. Out here in the sticks it might come in handy and save fuel for more important things.
