Pick and pluck foam set up ideas for hard gun case

I bought a Plano XL hardcase with 2 layer pick and pluck foam.

Was trying to figure out the best way to set up 3-4 pistols with mags. Should I try upright with the barrels pointing downward or 2 layers with the pistols laying flat?

If anyone has a decent setup, i'm open to suggestions.

    Thanks

Orientate the weapons so that when you open the case at the range the barrels will be facing down range

Ahhhh...that is a good point!! I'll make sure they are oriented in 1 direction.

And decide where on the shooting bench you want to place your case and how it will be oriented. That will also determine which direction to point the guns inside.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will be setting up my pistols vertically, barrel downwards with mags on the side.

That way I won't have to remove everything from the top layer in order to access the bottom layer while at the range.
