    Pepperball guns? .43 .50 .68 cal?

Anyone well-versed with pepper-ball guns, and recommendations?

I keep a Mace brand pepper gun in the car, but a backup pepper-ball might be a good thing too, but I just read that CO2 canisters/carts. are not permitted by the TSA even in checked luggage...

It also appears that Mace Pepper guns are out of stock everywhere, except for the 2.0 style that would snag on clothing with the picatinny on top...

Are pepperball guns legal in CA? I can't remember the mfg of the one I saw but they had a kit that included gun, CO2, practice balls, pepper balls, and hard plastic balls. The CA version only included practice and hard balls...

No, pepperball guns are not legal for just us folks in CA - we have to use sprays.

Any irritant projector is legally 'tear gas'; PC 22810
      (e) (1) No person shall purchase, possess, or use any tear gas weapon that expels a projectile, or that expels the tear gas by any method other than an aerosol spray, or that contains more than 2.5 ounces net weight of aerosol spray.

What is the legality of rubber balls bouncing off a violent perp's faux-head?

LEO strength pepper spray (big cans) are available out of state. Sabre makes some really nasty stuff that can hose down the orcs and goblins. NOT Cali legal size cans.

We are relegated to the Chap stick size containers.
Neither size has much range, but the big size obviously has more repeat sprays on tap.

Do as your conscience dictates when it comes time to beat to quarters and repel boarders.

Pepperballs would not be my first - or even my LAST choice of defense. All that would seem to do, is greatly ANNOY an attacker, & the last thing I want is an ANNOYED attacker: I want a STOPPED attacker!

Well, I got a Tippmann A-5 with the cyclone feeder and Response Trigger.

140 shots for my daughter to have immediate access to when we are at work, as I do not want her with access to firearms being a new teenager, with "emotions". It appears that the paintballs do more damage than the rubber balls, per some "youtube-testing" people have done.

I wanted to maybe do some more paint-balling anyways, and this would prevent a rental fee.

PVC, PVC coated steel, and large steel with a rubber coating might need some testing on my end...

Remember no practice on BLM lands with paintball guns. That restriction now in place.

Bear spray has less capsaicin than pepper spray intended for humans. Why would you choose bear spray?

I have never found any reading that suggests bear spray is an advantage. Just the opposite. Bear spray is regulated to be humane. Bears, dogs, etc. have incredible olfactory and much less potent spray is required.

                              Here's a start for reading
