You're too biased to be a moderator.

12oz'rs. You light weight. At least hit the 40's. It's a better bang for the buck!
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

Getting to old to lift heavy weight. I prefer lighter weight and more reps.

So true, after one rep I'm pretty much useless.

My training regimen prior to deer season is horizontal hula, as much as possible.

Besides that, I suffer through the first few weeks of the season, and by the second half I have my legs under me.

Then I start all over again. Whew..

My training regimen is not for hunting season, but something I do 52 weeks a year. So I will be strong at all times for anything that may come up in life. I let my self go for about 7 years. It was sad, but when I found out I was going to have a son everything changed. I did not want to be that fat guy dad. When my son looks back at pictures of me it is with defined muscles. So I guess I do it for vanity.

No, you are setting a positive example. Children take on habits and traits of their parents. That's why you see fat kids with fat parents, and rarely if ever do you see a fat kid with fit parents.

I did the same thing. When my son was born 8 years ago, I quit drinking. When my daughter was born last year, I quit smoking/chewing (habit taken up after my son was born and during the first divorce). I don't want them taking on those poor lifestyle choices.

                      Good parenting

With hunting I would say DIET first, then CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO! You want to lower your resting heart rate as much as possible for long hikes and so forth. I would also recommend low impact cardio if possible though myself I jogged and did wind sprints for years when I was fighting professionally. You need to build your slow twitch muscles for endurance. That being said I would still work in a couple of days of strength conditioning. Olympics lifts are great but sometimes not practical for older or more out of shape people. The more muscles involved in the movement(exercise) the better, movements like curls or benchpress' are better for body sculpting, not as much for overall fitness.

I think a great start is just getting your diet right and getting a few days a week of cardio in, and then adding and progressing from there. Or and remember the most important part is CONSISTENCY IS KEY!
