When the deer are scarce, the lions will be on the livestock and when they are gone do to ranchers selling the stock off because of no feed, the lions will be on your pets and humans.

            Thats why they call it a food chain.

            Except for my horses and maybe some sheep (for personal consumption) I will be selling all my livestock off if this drought continues.

            Lion, bear and coyote sightings will be all to common in heavily populated areas.
            I was told beef ranches are selling cattle already they can afford to feed them.
            When one of those hsus members are attacked by a lion or bear they will wish for a hunter but no one will be around to help.Then who will be left to protect them from the animals not me f... them all.

            Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

                You're down south. Big difference up here. My hills should be green right now but I still have summer grass that has nothing in it for the animals.

                    I've been getting more lions than deer on my trail cameras. 8 lions on 6 cameras in 4 days.

                      Here's a little timeline;

                      The bounty was taken off Mountain lions in 1967.

                      Four (4) depredation permits were issued in 1972. That number skyrocketed to 328 by 1994 (all hunting lions was stopped in 1990).

                      From 1972 thru 2009 a total of 5551 depredation permits were issued. I don't think this includes lions that were killed by landowners before a permit could be issued, or by state trappers. And we know SSS's weren't counted

                      I know of one (1) state trapper (houndsman) that kills between 100-200 lions per year for the state. He is paid very well to do it.

                      I say we move ALL these lions to their historical territory in L.A. and San Francisco. These are the people making the laws (prop 117 ended lion hunting by a vote of the people based on emotion and NOT sound science) but they don't live with the problem!

                      Prop 117 also allocated 30 million dollars a year to study the problem and "save" the lions. That's $720 Million of your tax payer dollars so far with MUCH more to come. Where has that money gone???

                          I've been seeing lion tracks lately. What's even stranger is that I have about 30 deer hanging around the house and livestock.

                          That means one thing, lion encounters are soon to follow.

                            So your into animal cruelty ? You know an animal can live several days in pain after they've been gut shot.
