The law is always subject to interpretation and different wardens interpret the laws in different ways.

Upon recent threads in here I've learned of new laws/codes that apparently I've been in violation of. I won't say what or when but sometimes **** just happens thru no fault of your own. That's all I'm willing to say. I truly don't believe anybody who claims they have never broken anything. Based upon the experience level of calguns hunting forum people I'd think they just started hunting.

That's true with most law enforcement. Your individual experience will depend largely on which officer you encounter.

So last year I cut back all of this invasive **** brush that grows like a weed to expose a nice seep which was covered by the brush (which sucked most of the water up). I guess that's a broken law as well if I hunt within 200 yards of that. I guess I will have to GPS mark it so I am sure to keep the appropriate distance away.

Here's a great hypothetical for those who can't understand why anyone could possibly break a rule. A small flock of sprig fly by as you are duck hunting by yourself. You stand up and fire one shot and 2 of them drop. Until a few years ago this would be a serious game violation b/c the limit is one. Shotgunning is not precision and so what do you do?

                A) stomp the extra sprig into the mud
                B) stuff it in your backpack and hope DFG doesn't stop and search you
                C) Put both on your strap and walk out
                D) turn yourself in

P.S. I cut back the brush as my intent was to give the animals a clean place to drink in a dry year aka habitat enhancement.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

There's so many rules, from barbless hook areas to how much weight you can use to how close the weight can be to your hook I'm sure I break a rule now and again.

no one can predict the actions of birds. they could be apart before you shoot and at the very last second be close enough to hit both.

my friend and i had that happen a couple of years ago. a flock of widgeon flew over and were spread apart and at the last second they bunched up. and both of us shot and 4 birds fell with one shot from both of us.

there is no way we could have predicted that in anyway what so ever.

we weren't over our limit anyways but it did limit both of us out after that.

i have no idea what to call that one.

I dont break no laws. Heck, I even fill my tag before I shoot a deer. I even date it and mark how many points before seeing the deer.

When we were only allowed to kill one sprig, thats pretty much what you had to do.

Its easy to do if you know your species. When i shoot a duck, i know exactly what i am shooting! Its part of hunting.
