If they claim to its because they are liars and attention whores begging for people to acknowledge them.

I only know of three kinds of "professional coyote hunters": ADC guys, the guys you see in hunting shows on TV or video, and hunting guides, none of which frequent this forum.

Wolves might taste a little better.

If you wait till they have pups or kill a calf, you've waited to long. I'm not going to lose a $600 calf to "wait and see" if it's going to kill a calf. All coyotes will kill calves, deer, quail, pigs, and pets. Now is the time to get out there. Breeder pairs are out... get'em before they drop another litter of killers.

Because they're smart and a challenge to hunt.

Umm. No. Every time I visit my buddy on the Viejas reservation, they serve Coyote and home brew. Delicious

I hunt them because they are cunning creatures and difficult to hunt. Good challenge!

I beg to differ, picked him up last night in an urban area in SD. Client said they just left his back yard. No shots were fired, but he was harmed.

Negative. In the second picture if you look hard enough you can see what did him in.

                            1) Skin them, then have the hide tanned.

                            2) Take the skull and have it prepped by someone with dermestid beetles and some imagination and talent.

                            3) Pull the canine teeth and use a dremel tool to make them into slick earrings for your rebellious daughter.

                            4) Pull all the teeth and use a dremel tool to make them into a cool necklace (for yourself, of course).

                            5) Do #'s 3 & 4 to the claws.

                            6) Strip and split the tail, dry and tan it.

                            7) Make a coyote skin hat so you can pretend you're a trapper.

Those are some of the things you can do with a nice, winter coyote.

Why do I hunt them? They have killed my sheep, my dogs, cats and chickens. I have no sympathy for them around these parts because they have become over populated and fearless. About two years ago one was inside our 6' fence eyeing our puppies. It was so close I was able to blast it with my P226 9mm....DRT.
