Nothing against hunting them. In fact, I'd love to tag along with some of you guys. (Hint, hint)
But... I've got a German Shepherd, and they sure look similar.
I was hunting pig on a private ranch last year when I saw a coyote chase a deer into a small lake. Pretty amazing. I had a bead on him, but didn't take the easy shot. Wasn't sure what the land owner's policy was since it hadn't been discussed. Later he almost kicked my butt for not killing that #$%^&* coyote... ;-)NRA LIFE MemberComment

Plus it is very very fun to have them come in to your call's.
People don't eat coyotes Pch is the only one I ever heard of that eats them.A lot of them are mangy and flea ridden to so I am sure he just let's those lie.I drop mine off in a ditch.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.ProShooter's
You'd never guess that human beings are apex predators reading some of the weepy vaginas in this thread, it's a moose people, who cares.Comment

Without natural predators all species will over reproduce and with pigs and coyotes they have become a tremendous problem. Here in San Diego, there is an abundance of them living in the canyons surrounding residential areas where they are off limits to hunters but kill dogs & cats on a regular basis. Often land owners will request that I kill every coyote and ground squirrel I see, in exchange for permission to hunt/fish on their property. Twenty years ago they were only in western states and today they can be found in almost every state in the US.When the battle drum beats, it is too late to sharpen your sword."

1. No tag required
2. Can hunt at night
3. smaller calibers - cheaper ammo
4. way too many of themOriginally posted by jonnyt16I know the safety nazis will kill me for this, but there's nothing like a mag dump of .223 tracer rounds at night out of your AR with a little bit of firewater in your system. Man what a feeling!Comment

I only know of three kinds of "professional coyote hunters": ADC guys, the guys you see in hunting shows on TV or video, and hunting guides, none of which frequent this forum.
Ask these people if they have tried it.
