        And here is the only picture I have of 1 of the 3 deer I harvested this year...I obviously hunt for food...big racks are nice, but you can't eat them.

          Really? Im pretty sure i'm eating some of mine righttt now... I have also eaten every deer me or anyone in my family has taken big or small.

            I think he mean's they don't eat the big ones because they don't taste as good. I personally have never hunted anything significant but my uncle and co workers have all told me bigger bucks, hogs, elk, ect. don't taste as good because the meat is tough and muscly due to age.

              Meaning the antlers don't taste good...the rest of it does.

              SexPistol is on spot too...my family always shoots for yearlings. Yeah...it takes a few more deer to add up to 1 big one, but then again, they get 8 tags every year.

                  Yes of course they don't taste as GOOD but still damn good. I thought you were making a knock at people that shoot big deer don't eat em or something of the like. Ill shot any deer thats legal I hunt for the food and a good time with my family and buddies I love these mountains I grew up in em

                                Not much of a secret but private property I hunt out on some islands down in Nor Cal. I could go out every day and limit out easy. I got those 4 in 30 minutes.
