Starting to see some spring Turkeys and lots of deer near my work in Portola Valley, hoping to find a rich customer with some private land that might hook it up.

What a Run of Good Luck

Started last Thursday. Took the boat to Nacimiento Lake for the first time this year. Caught the white bass and spotted bass chasing shad in a cove. Ended up catching 60. Even caught 2 fish on one cast. One on the front hook and one on the rear hook.

Went pig hunting on public land with a buddy Saturday. We both got pigs. He got a nice sow and I got a good boar.

Tuesday went back to Nacimiento Lake. Caught the white bass spawning in the river. Caught 115.

Took a friend to Nacimiento Lake Thursday. Caught 75 between the two of us. Mostly white bass with a few spots thrown in.

Took a different friend to Nacimiento Lake Friday. Caught 82 between the two of us. Mostly white bass with a few spots thrown in.

Went turkey hunting on public land this morning. Got a tom around 7:00AM.

I went to Namibia with a friend, 7 days and 23 animals between us. I took 5 Springbok, 6 Gemsbok and a black wildebeest.

Arrowed him opening morning at 6:15 in B4. Such a stud for a coastal buck and one of the biggest I've ever laid eyes on. I'd seen him 26 days before the opener and then once the evening before the 27th! Going to mount him for sure.

No bragging for me. Happy to have filled my seer tag. Drew an early season rifle hunt with a long season. Last week was my planned hunt but even after hiking 36 miles over 3 days, I wasn't successful.

After work tonight I ran up to a spot that is about 90 minutes away for an evening hunt. Heading up the dirt road and what do I see? It was a small buck, but it was legal and since my planned hunt was over, selectiveness was gone.

Stopped the truck and made my way off the road to be legal. Double lung with a suppressed 6.5 creedmore and that was out. Got home before dark.

Dove opens Sunday then quail. Antelope open but not hunting that until October.
