          Today's haul.

          Decent looking Ruddy.

Spoony half way through his color transformation.

Thanks. In 25 years, we've never seen another that came remotely close. I doubt it'll ever be topped there. Heck, the processor and taxidermist were both shooting pictures. Getting a European mount done (bare skull).

45# Amberjack. Puerta Vallarta MX. Not very big by AJ standards, but damn those things are f*&king strong. Like being dragged by a runaway horse but underwater.

^Apparently some of us off spearboard also like guns...

Pulled my first 2 lobster last night. Bigger one was more than an inch over legal. Both caught freediving.

So, are you eating the spoonys, ruddy ducks, and coots? I'm just wondering.

I'm saving all my breasts until I have roughly 15-20 pounds to try my hand at making sausage. The coot bit me so I had to put it down.

Funny story about the coot anyways. I walked out to pick up a bird, walked back to my hide, and found what I thought was a coot decoy stuffed up between the tules. I picked up the bird and it pecked me and started scratching me. It ended up with a broken neck. True story...my girlfriend watched it from the edge of the pond. LOL

A late northern flight spoony is not bad. Ruddy ducks and coots in the old days were ground up into sausage for the hogs. FWIW I am not trying to be sarcastic either. Its just what they did.

Spoonies that have been in the rice for a while aren't bad as duck wraps. I won't shoot em if any other species are around.

They make good mounts with those little airline liquor bottles too.
