    Big smiles for these hunters

Heres 2 happy hunters from last weekend. One flew in from NY for this hunt. We saw zero hogs the first evening hunt and morning hunt of this trip. The dogs struck this 260-270lb boar in a herd of about a dozen late in the afternoon on saturday. The dogs did their job and stopped this boar in "hell canyon". The hunter killed this hog at arms length distance with my 41.mag. The drag out took well into the night and we had the hog hung and skinned out just before 1am. We ended up on sunday with one hog for 2 hunters and a missed rifle shot first thing that morning on a hog the we were certain was larger than this one.

Thanks, it was a fun fight and it was over by the pavillion in the harbor where the tour boats and rentals tend to leave. I actually had a couple of boats slowdown to watch. It was cool that day!

My fun fight, hanging out with dad in Newport Harbor where we normally catch jacksmelt and sand bass all of a sudden my pole runs like a mad and I spend 10 minutes bringing up the guy who was about 2 feet at his widest. Felt like fighting a bluefin for the fun factor.

Caught on 10 pound test and a cheapy combo freshwater uglystick combo.

Foul hooked 71 inch sturgeon. Think he managed to spit the hook at some point and on its way past him it hooked his side. Ever tried to bring in a fish that big sideways against the current? Took 45 min and 4 tries to finally grab him long enough to get the hook out and measure him. Then he tried to tail slap me on the way back to the bottom...

Never could figure that out either. Maybe they are ashamed that they hunt or fish and dont want anyone to recognise them?

Limited out in 45 minutes on Saturday morning! Limited all three days fishing in the Sierras at different lakes and creeks. Haven't taken a total measurement for largest trout but it was a killer weekend.

Never believe your guide when he says every hunter must take a bite of the heart of his first kill..

The whole Stanislaus river from what I've been hearing has been producing a lot of fish. I was fishing the north fork of it up by Dorrington town. White Pine lake in Arnold has been really good for trout and bass too.

Thanks guys. Pistol: I've been meaning to get up there and fish the Stanislaus. You recommend anywhere in particular?
