Spent a long weekend out at Catalina, sailing with a couple buddies 2 weekends ago. Lobster opener was Oct 1, so first order of business was spiny bugs. Pulled 2 keepers on the first set Friday night, and 3 on the next, so we quit early. Found as many as we wanted to eat the next 2 nights too. My cousin got one snorkeling on Sunday.

    First 2

    Next 3

During the days we did some sailing and some spearfishing. Lunch of 2 blue rockfish and 3 big perch on Saturday. I got 3 with a pole spear and my cousin got 2 with a gun.

And a nice Calico (down in the cooler with a perch) and a big blue on Sunday.

    G-10 BUCK (CAMPEN)

    I figured...What the hell?

I shot this guy last Sunday (14 Oct) on Camp Pendleton in the Case Springs Area (Training Area Echo).

    Deer: Southern California Mule Deer
    Antlers: 3x2 w/ eye guards
    Weight: 131 lbs (field dressed)
Rifle: Ruger 77 Hawkeye, 25-06 w/ Barnes TSX 100 gr
Optic: Nikon Prostaff 3x9-40mm (IMO best scope for the money)

Shot: 60 yards, quartering away (yeah I know). 15-20 yards before recovery.
Surprisingly the bullet was found under the skin of the opposite shoulder.

Additional info: A bobcat appeared from the opposite direction less than 1 minute after I shot the deer . He sniffed the area where I shot the buck then walked off into the draw. I do have a bobcat tag and would have "smoked" him too but they're protected on base.

Because the mexican limit is 2 dorado/day? Each one counts as 5 fish towards a 10 fish limit. Assuming the reg's haven't changed in the past month...

Of course it's not really enforced very much or followed.

    Nice fish though!
