I need to get my butt in gear for 2017. Sometimes, I wish we had pigs here.

    Goals for 2017 are:
    2 antelope
    1mule deer
    1 elk
Way more fish than this past year.

It seems to have happened to most of us. I'm glad I walked away with something.

Had a broadside shot but was too excited and he moved before I could calm down. Lost him and thought he was gone. Moved from my sitting to standing spot and glassed the area. Finally found him behind some trees staring at me. We had a staring comets for a bit so I slowly reached for my rifle.

Had him in a head on shot that I shouldn't have taken. But I did. When I shot, the scope bit me.

    Here's the result.

Took two trips because I was inexperienced. 7 miles total on the hike today.

Less than 15 seconds between the first and third shot. A little over 200 yds with a .270, all three DRT.

Swine Down! Went to Woods-N-Water in Wrightsville GA for hogs and deer and ended up with a 200lb boar at 125 yards!!!! Tasty! Never had to track it thank God. The 300 RUM did its job.

It started as a 180 grain Partition and had a net weight of 130 grains.

I have no strength to hold back when hunting elk. Can't eat them horns.
I should have waited but you just never know.
IF I was hunting Gila, then yeah I would hold out for sure.
I want to go there some day.
IF you dont mind sharing some helpful tips on how to draw that unit and some general tips. Please PM me.
