Does anyone have any experience with efoods global? After the first of the year I was going to start stocking up with long term food and I was going to try honeyville. I just found out last night that my wifes uncle is a distributer for efoods and he going to let me try some of it and if I like he wont charge me any commision. Problemchild, you recommend HV correct? What are the pros and cons to these companys? He told me efoods cost works out to about $1.50 a meal. Is this the same for HV?

eFoods 6 Meal Free Pack
I went ahead and bought the 6 meal starter pack for a taste evaluation. Only paid shipping and Processing ($14.95). This was a promo back in August of 2010. Took them up to the Trinity River to mine gold. EVERYONE really enjoyed the flavor and generally thought they were good hearty meals.
These are not the "cook in the bag" meals and do require a pot and a good amount of water. Stir, stir, stir for 20 minutes and wha la.
Link
Now the 6 meal pack is only $9.95! I would suggest trying them out for yourself before making a large purchase.
Hope this helps and Merry Christmas.
Regards,

Thanks for the advise. I will be trying some in a couple of weeks. My only problem is I have two kids with severe peanut alergies and some of their stuff was packaged around peanuts, same as honnyville. I just need to get a list of what they can eat and fill in the rest with regular food from the store and just keep changing it out.'tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt'

OK eFoods Direct (link provided by mrboma) is not the same as eFoods Global. IMO eFoods direct is a well establish leader in the field. I have no experience with eFoods Global but I worry about commissioned sales... eFoods Direct has been my preferred source of long term stored foods for several years. Their meal pouched foods are delicious and easy to prepare, however they do require a significant amount of water and additional utensils (pot & cover). Not the best for backpacking, Mountain House would be preferable, but great for home based stores.CGSSA Calendar of Events 2016 - http://cgssa.org/events/Comment

Sorry but the LAST thing I want is chemicals in my food when under stress or any other time for that matter. Chemicals just give me bad headaches and make me feel like crap. I prefer real food with 1-2 items on the label not 90. Im a HV fan all the way. In store prices are much cheaper and they have awesome sales up to 20% off every week. Sign up for the email alerts.
Sand and fractionated MSG just are not my cup of tea. Maybe these additives wont bother you? They do me.
Maltodextrin, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, Corn Starch, Sunflower Oil, Tapioca Dextrin, Textured Soy Flour, Sugar, Water, Soybean Oil, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Dextrose, Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate (MSG), Disodium Phosphate, Spices and Silicon Dioxide (Anti-Caking Agent).

Never did I say that the meals were "health food". Aside from all the chemicals used in these meals they are also very high in sodium. Not something I would suggest relying on as a main diet.
With that being said... if you have a pot, water and fire your eating something that does not taste bad and fills you up.
YMMV

Food storage is my weak link. I'm prepared to garden but I know that will take some time and have struggled with making sure I have 6 months of supplies on hand before the gardens produce (with room for error). Most of what I've done is add to household goods that are on the cupboards and in the pantry....extra soups, extra pastas, extra rice, extra peanut butter, etc etc etc.....canned goods are taking up all the space I have.
Sometime after the first though I hope to visit the Stockton area Mormon center that helps with food storage / goods. I've heard nothing but good stuff about them and for a $100 I'm told you can stock up pretty nice.Comment

Ripon, I think I might do the same as you, find a Mormon place here in Bakersfield. I'm going to try efoods only cause my wife uncle is giving me some for free but I'm going to take problemchilds advice and go with HV. I work down near rancho cucamunga all the time so I can just go there.'tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt'
