what do you need it for? Urban survival or wilderness survival? Honestly dude I'd rather assemble my own kit.

You should detirmine first what you really need. After you do some research and put some serious thought into it, build your own with tools that will last.

There is a ton of info not only on the board but many others out there. Personally, for the money I don't like either one. JMO.

The pre-assembled kits are usually cheap and low in quality and lack in certain supplies to make the price appealing. I recommend building your own. It will be high quality and cheaper in the long run for the quality.

over priced for quality of goods...if u really want u should look for the items separately. it'll end up being cheaper for better quality, and then u can make a few to leave at home, office or car.

I put together my own kit.

These items are what I carry whenever I hike.

Shelter, space blanket type, but not mylar its a more durable plastic material
Head lamp
compass
Duct tape
first aid kit with tylenol and ibuprofen
knife
Cell phone
mirror
flint and steel
whistle
micro light
case with stormproof matches
wetfire
cotton pads
petroleum jelly
container with lighter pine
small bic lighter

As you can see. I WILL have fire.

the pack I have already is very similar to yours but I also carry a roll of 100mph tape. It has millions of uses. And is lightweight

I would recommend to build your self one out of a back pack of some sort and customized for what your area is and needs. I built one to keep in my truck that will give me food, shelter, fire, water and a change of clothes and I designed it for 3-4 days to help get me home incase of some sort of disaster, whether I was in my truck or having to hoof it. No going to go into everything I put into it, but lets say it will do fine for MY needs, and I am always tweeking it.
