Bugout Bag: MULTI-USE items for BOB, INCH, 3day, & Misc

I was reading thru this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=147834 and was impressed by the wide variety of ideas people had for different uses for items. So, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread that so that everyone can post thier DIFFERENT/Multiple uses for everyday items that might go into a Bugout (or any size/type survival bag/kit.)

Lets try to keep this thread organized by not arguing about what belongs in a Bugout bag vs INCH bag vs Pocket kit vs base camp, etc... If its got ANYTHING to do with survival and being useful in unforseen situations, and has multiple uses POST IT! I'm hoping to make this a good reference for everyone to try to condense thier gear & inventory.

In the interest of keeping this thread up to date and easy to read, I suggest that we post our items in the following manner: Item name= Brief description on its multiple uses, leave out the description of what the item is OBVIOUSLY used for. Try to keep each item on a SINGLE LINE as Ive done below. It will also make it easier for people to cut and paste by line for personalizing thier own BOB list.

I will try to keep the opening post updated with everybodys suggestion by doing a simple cut and paste by line. If you have more uses for someone elses suggestion, quote it and add your suggestion to the end or duplicate it on a separate line if its too long. If you have to explain something in detail about your item, put it at the end of your post after your item list.

Well, I'll start it off with a few items:

Superglue= Use for closing wounds & cuts.
Dishwashing Liquid= Shampoo, laundry detergent, body wash, drinking water clarifier.
Rugged Insulated Thermos= Extend storage life of batteries, food, medicine, lightsticks, keep candles from melting in hot environments (like in a car trunk).
Butane Soldering Iron= Lighter, torch, heat gun, engraver, hot knife, cauterize wounds.
Zip Ties= Secure gear, temporary padlock, trail marker, keep your camp buddies honest, quick or permanent tourniquet, snare, handcuffs.
Condoms= Water carrier, muzzle protector, waterproof phone, keep shotshells dry.
Mesh Laundry Bag= Fish net, strainer, place to dry out your wet gear, xtra carrier for found items, sand strainer for brass, mosquito net (depending on mesh hole size).
Bicycle Innertube= Sling (arm or weapon), bandoleer, bungee cord, "ranger" rubber bands, tourniquet, belt (car or pants), pillow, water carrier, pack float, hose repair, patches.

For further explaination on the soldering iron see http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...147834&page=22 post #857.

Lets keep this going! What else do you creative folks use?
