Just picked up a few of the new 2017 Zero Tolerance models. This 0801 based design is one of favorites. The cuts through the handle remind me of the badass custom STI 2011's with slide cuts that I used to own.
This sexy young thing is the 0801Ti. They put out a limited run of this handle design in 2016 which is the bronze one called the 0801BRZ. That's the one I the bottom three pics for you slow fellas.

I like that shape. I looked it up. Interesting that it comes in FRN and Aluminum variants like the 1776/LINKs. I like the grip of the FRN but the slimness of the AL... it is slippery though. I might pickup one of these. If the FRN doesn't have the flag etch, that might be the deal maker for the AL, hahah.Leave a comment:

OK, I'll hop back into this thread.
So, interests and hobbies come and go. Life changes. Nothing is static for long. I hadn't been buying many knives in the last year or two. I had a few choice pieces in my collection, didn't have any real orders in with makers and was a little frustrated with some off the pricing I was seeing as has been discussed at length in various threads. I kind of thought that maybe my passion for knives was waning and that I could be content with what I had collected.
Apparently, I was mistaken. I seem or have turned a corner of sorts. I was at a M&G or something, don't really recall where, but someone showed me a Boker Marlowe collab called a Bullpup. It's a production version of Charles Marlowe's Bulldog. I have a custom Bulldog that's too pretty to carry, so decided that I had to have one. Now, most who know me know that I'm mostly into customs with a few notable exceptions. The knife is way too cool for as little as it costs.
Then, out of the blue, I get an email from Scott Cook noting that I had an order on his book from the last time he opened it six and a half years ago. He noted that six and a half years is a long time and that if I was no longer interested, no big deal, but if I was, it was my time! So, we worked out the details and he went to work on a Lochsa for me. I went for the optional top swedge, S90V steel and the CF inlays. It is SWEET!
While I was waiting for the Lochsa to be finished, I came across a cool Charles Marlowe No Name frame lock. I worked a deal and before I knew it, I had added another Marlowe folder to my collection. This didn't come with no pain though, as I did part with a cool *** Marlowe bali that I got from Charles a while back. I had come to realize that while it was a really cool bali, I'm just not a bali guy. I'm much happier with the folder.
So, the Lochsa finally shows and oh my! It is stunning. I figured that I was probably done for a while. Three new knives in a fairly short period is a lot for a guy who had been pretty dormant.
Then I went to the Pasadena show where not only wasn't there much that caught my eye, but was the tiniest knife show I've ever attended. It was kind of sad how the show I've been faithfully attending for years had shrunk. One of my favorite dealers, Recon 1 wasn't even there. On the way home, my wife and I stopped in at their retail store in Woodland Hills just so see familiar faces and say hi. While there, I spied a John W. Smith liner lock with LSCF scales and brushed Ti bolsters. It was tip up and minty. JWS makes an AWESOME knife! Just what I'd been passively looking for, for years! Sako made me a deal I couldn't refuse, so it came home with me!
Then, just a couple of weeks ago, I saw a Strider SNG DGG with Safety Orange G10. I have a special Strider SNG CC that is one of my EDC rotation knives. I've always been curious about the DGG configuration and have been curious about owning a bright orange knife, so I figured WTF and made an offer that was graciously accepted. Come to Papa!
You'd think that would be enough for just the first quarter of the year or so, but that was not to be the case. I got together last week with along lost Brother and as we were parting, he reached into his pocket and handed me a Daboia that he'd scored from CKF ( https://fromrussiawithknives.com/dab...itium-inserts/ ). It was not a knife I was familiar with, but is a Ti frame lock flipper with a CF scale, S35VN blade running on bearings. It's pretty cool, although I'm not clear as to exactly who built it for CKF.

After many 15 years of carrying a Wenger 2" Swiss army pocket knife I decided to update to something more serious. So, I decided to buy a Kershaw Dividend. It looks really good, US made, and the price is very attractive.

Coolest folder ever. I am super happy! It even carries OK in the pocket.
Got my hand a couple times learning pocket deploy haha! Subtlety is the key.

I have two 1st gen 7/7s and they're great blades. I'll probably pick one up off the secondary market in the next year or so, when I find a decent deal on one. The FB fan page is pretty cool because I've picked up several of my SK!s on there for reasonable prices. I actually got a used Factory 1st 4.7 in CFV for $115 and a 4.7 for $215 in the last few months. One of the guys sold me a new spec Factory 2nd 4.1 in D3V for $220. It's great not having to wait several months for a knife. There are a few scalpers on the page though that will ask guys to sell them knives cheap and you see them flip and sell them for $300-$400, whether it be on the site or eBay. It's fine if guys make profits off of blades they waited for, but asking for favors to sell your knives cheap, than flipping them for a profit isn't accepted by many.Last edited by Supertac916; 04-12-2017, 9:34 AM.Leave a comment:

Hope you get yours soon as well. The new spec 4.1 is my favorite so far and my last and final 4.7 is being delivered today. From now on I'm only buying SK!s off the secondary market. The best place to get them are on their FB fan page or BF when guys post them up for at or near what they paid. I noticed some of them have gone for $300-$450 on eBay lately.Leave a comment:
