Lost My EDC knife :( Need to Pick a Replacement.

So I cant find my mini Griptillian. No idea where she is. Its a bit of a bummer because it was a custom shop one with don't-lose-it neon green scales and my initials on the blade but such is life I guess.

I'm open to other options but I'm within LA city limits a lot so I need one with a blade less than 3". I don't like liner locks and do really like Benchmade Axis or similar setups from other manufacturers.

Any good options before I just order up a new Mini Grip?

See, this is a problem with expensive knives: when you lose them, it hurts.

The guys who installed my air conditioning unit, they carried cheap box cutters. One of them said "I will spend $5.00 and see how long it lasts". These guys are constantly losing their box cutter knives, wearing them out, and it does not make economic sense to buy a $50 to $200 knife, only to lose it.

My advice: buy a box cutter knife, the blades are cheap and replaceable.

Counterpoint: It is worth having nice things, even if we periodically have to replace them.

I mean obviously I'm mad I lost it but I got a solid multi-year run from it so it served me well.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully it turns up.

If not I suggest the Para 3. If you're sold on Benchmade, mini bugout or 940 mini.

The Spyderco Manix 2 has a Caged Ball Bearing Lock, which is sort of like the Benchmade Axis, but better. The blade length is over 3", but your an American, so it's not a problem, right? But if it is, the Native 5 is another nice knife from Spyderco. It's a backlock that's under 3". But before you go off and order the first one you find, be aware that Spyderco makes knives with very esoteric flavors of steel. Pick the knife, then pick the steel you want. Both the knives I've mentioned come with CPM SPY27 steel. I think you'd be happy with either of these knives in SPY27.

                  Spyderco Native 5 is amazing.
                  Spyderco Para 3 is amazing.

Just dont get the lightweight versions.

If you like the crossbar lock take a look at the SOG Aegis or the Hogue knives.

2x on the Spyderco. It's my edc. Go with the serrated blade.

Less than 3? Chaparral. It's my only spyderco I can't flick, but also can't reccomend enough. The lightweight is thinner than an oreo.

Screw those gun grinders at bm.

I like the Benchmade Osbourne, I thought I lost it and bought 2 Kershaws, but joy found the Osbourne under the couch!
