WTB: cheap handgun which shoots 7.62x25

I am looking to purchase a cheap handgun which fires the 7.62x25 Tokarev round. I would like a TT-33 but a cz52 or anything else in that caliber will be considered. I am in the Santa Cruz area, so I could go from around San Jose to Monterey to pick up.

To avoid confusion, let me be clear: I am able to find places online which sell these guns. I want to do a ftf if possible to cut down on the stupid shipping/ffl fees and be able to see the actual gun before I purchase it.

    Thanks,
    Dick

    CZ-52

The CZ-52 is a great gun for that purpose. Its accurate, cheap to shoot, and very reliable. I think that the only other gun that shoots that round is the Tokarev, which is usually more expensive.

You're 20 years late for the really cheap ones we had available in the late 1980's,sks's were selling for $89 when I bought mine.

The 7.62x25 round is a pistol caliber. SKSs typically use 7.62x39.

As far as pistols, look up the vz52 (often, and incorrectly called the cz52) on gunbroker.com that's where I bought mine, and they're often on that site.

I currently see 10 vz52s on gunbroker under the search "cz52"

No way really? You can get guns on gunbroker? I was completely unaware of that website.

Thanks, obviously (I thought) I am trying to get a gun ftf face from someone on the forum here. There are many advantages to doing it like that vs. GB, not the least of which is avoiding the ridiculous fees to get a handgun, even C&R, shipped to an ffl.

In 1952 the Czechs adopted two new firearms into the military.
A rifle, in 7.62x45, which took the designation vz52

AND a pistol in 7.62x25, which took the designation vz52.

The "vz" is like the "m" of the U.S. military, it is the abbreviation for "model". Thus the correct lettering for all czech military firearms is vz, vz24, vz52, vz58, etc.

Since modern czech exported firearms carry the "cz" designating the country of origin, many people not in the know, or not familiar with the czech military incorrectly call the vz52 pistol a cz52.

It's a pistol. California's C&R rules are different than the rest of the country. You can't get a vz52 FTF from anyone, legally anyhow. It still has to go through an FFL.
