Interested in two. Can you give details on how long this would take after the build party? Do we drive to the anodizing place and get the parts anodized in a few hours?

Ideally this will take one day to execute, and it will happen as close to the build party as possible. As you know, we do not even have dates for shipment of the pieces from QD yet, much less dates for the build party, so my answer to many of your questions at this point is "it depends" on all of the other stuff. But I will attempt to have the anodizing done ASAP after the build party.
Some of the places I am talking to tomorrow have their FFL, others do not. For shops without an FFL, if we decide to go with one of them, someone will need to be on premises at all times during the anodizing process. Whether or not this is all of the owners of all of the pieces, or if me and a couple of others can be there for the lot, is something I expect to get answered tomorrow.Comment

Since we will be anodizing we will be adding thickness, is any extra machining required? Or is the anodizing so minor it doesn't matter?
Rorge, possible to pose the question of other colors? I would bet a few would be in for FDE, even at an extra charge.

Type III (Hard Coat) anodizing has behavior that sees 50% of the process/product penetrate into the substrate (original material), and 50% add onto the original dimensions, for a total thickness of 0.0005" to 0.006". Since the raw uppers and lowers we are anodizing are the same pieces that QD bead blasts and sends out for anodizing, I think we're okay.Rorge Retson & AIMSMALL

Regarding colors, this time around I'm going to play Henry Ford and say "You can have any color you want as long as it's black." Opening that door is problematic for various reasons. You want FDE, but someone else will want OD and yet others will want hot pink. Different batches, different prices, longer processing times, yadda yadda yadda. Maybe next time.Comment

If you plan on showing up in person for the build party and again when your pieces are ready for pick-up after anodizing, you are more than welcome to attend/participate.
