Did that someone else that referred you originally send you "hey, my brother has that, email him at.." ?

If so, you need to give the name of the original messager.


(Oh its been 9 hrs since he posted, if he sent the money, he probably got scammed.)

I always vet every seller before sending funds. I check their iTrader, recent posts, threads they started, and if I'm really uncertain I'll copy their email or screen name and paste it into Google search to see what comes up.

If I'm really really really uncertain, I only send PayPal G&S for money protection. There's been a lot of new people on here since the gun surge of last year, so some do not have feedback. I had one seller refuse to accept G&S and another refunded my money after I sent G&S - obvious red flags

What everyone SHOULD do, is leave them negative feedback so as to help warn others... I just left 'gagacap640' negative feedback (aka jrockjc45).

This is the latest scam trend: You post publicly on someone's for sale post, the scammer sees your comment, sends you a PM and states something like = you can reach the seller direct via the e-mail the scammer provides (which is the scammers e-mail) or my friend/fruncle/gynecologist has the same item you're looking for cheaper and provides you an e-mail.

In reality, you're corresponding with a scammer who will try to get you to send unsecured money that you have no chance of getting back for an item they do not have.
