Here's an email that I suspect is a scam, as I cannot find a user on CalGuns by this name, and the phone number does not match any on Google search, nor does this post appear on my ad... soliciting comment. Here's a copy of the email I received (I posted it on my ad so I could quote it as below.)

Received this email as forwarded by CalGuns as a reply to my WTB post:

douttommy has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - WTB .357 Sig Barrel to fit HK USP 40 Compact - in the WTB (Want To Buy) forum of Calguns.net.

Could not find a CalGuns Member by the name of 'douttommy' wonder how that could happen, if forwarded by CalGuns email forwarding routine? Must have been posted to my ad, but it's not there now... I posted the email content to have a quote for this query to the potential scam list.

I was one of probably several that reported it was a scammer early this morning. He had about 7 Posts saying he can provide just about anything anybody would ever want with those words.
Once they are banned for this the mods remove them from the system completely I believe.

I have heard this name mentioned more than once yet not one of the people accusing this person of being a scammer has given him a negative iTrader rating to warn the rest of us.

Please use the red triangle to report these scammers also.

Great that the bank can handle this for you.

To help the rest of us out, we need to be warned by more than just naming them in this thread.

All of us can see a negative iTrader rating, not many of us keep a list from this thread.

To give an iTrader rating:
Copy the URL of the deal thread.
Click on the blue iTrader rating for the person.
Paste the URL and then remove the "s" from https.
Fill in all the boxes, including the optional one.

The red triangle in the upper right of posts and PMs alerts the moderators to a problem and they can cancel the account to at least slow them down.

Yes...behindenemyline came on here and hit this place hard. I called him out on his 2nd day and notified a moderator. They combined his 10 or 12 diff sale posts but people kept on buying stuff even after other Calgunners started calling him out. If it's too good to be true, then it's too good to be true.

Suspicious response to WTB

I had a user on here respond to a WTB in this way:

"I've got this kindly send me your email address or contact so we can talk better"

User literally registered within the hour and has 0 posts.

Obviously this is similar to Craigslist where people troll for info.

That line is one of the most used lines of a scammer.

I've had several "0 iTrader" members make firm " lower than asking" offers to buy, and then flake on their offer! Not illegal, but frustrating.. I've been reluctant to give them negative feedback... not worth a p.ssing contest but frustrating for sure.
