Hi All,


Time for our yearly Gun Safe and Cabinet Deals thread. As in years past, I will update this thread as more deals become available. This year it is slim pickings, but there may be more/better deals once we get into December.


This is a group effort. This year, again with your help, we can be well-organized, help each other out and save some time and money. If you see deals on any gun safes and gun cabinets for pre-Black Friday and Black Friday, please post them in this thread. Please, no regular weekly sales.

HELPFUL TIPS:

- Start planning now. Today.

- - Determine what size safe you NEED. Rule is to take the number of long guns you have, and double it.

- - Read reviews and ask for opinions. Many Calgunners will be more than happy to share their experiences with you.

- - Check which stores/locations have the safe you want.

- - Plan delivery methods now. Now would be a good time to team up with a local Calgunner with a truck.

- - If you are going to use discounted codes and gift cards, start stocking up TODAY to make sure they arrive in time.

- - If several stores are offering the same item, have them compete for your business.

HELP OTHERS:

- If you find an even cheaper price, please post it.

- If you are able to buy the safe early, please post it.

- If you are able to leave a review of safe, please do.

- If a store gave you good/bad service, please post.

- If you are available to help with deliveries, please post it.

- If you end up saving some money from this thread, please pay it forward. Buy someone a cup of coffee or a person in need a meal, etc. Pass it on.

DRILLING INTO THE FLOOR

Sorry for type errors:

Be advised that drilling into a concrete foundation slab of a structure may cause damage to your slab. modern engineering methods often calls for tension concrete in some residential foundations. If you dont know what that is or if your home is such equipt, ask someone for help....

YES!!! This is absolutely something everyone ought to be aware of. If you accidentally drill into one of the tension cables and destroy it, the tension will be released explosively, likely causing thousands of dollars in damage

I still can't get over how nice my Fat Boy Jr. that I bought at Cabela's over the summer is. It was on sale, and a 10% off'er, 6% cash back using AJ, and I paid for it using 20% gift cards. I had to pay a bunch for delivery, and tax since I had it delivered to NV. Still, with all the above, it came out to be just over $1200 delivered I think it was. A great safe by Liberty and a great way to buy one.

You're most welcome gents! We are getting more and more new gun owners every year, and many of us make the rookie mistake of buying a safe that is too small due to our budgets and lack of planning for the future (you will out grow that 14-gun cabinet lol!). Hopefully this thread and feedback and tips from seasoned members can help the rest of us make a good purchase.

The only reason I didn't get that one was because of the depth. The Jr. fit nicely in my spot.

Get a good drill, or rent one, if you are going into concrete like I was for the anchors. I think a hand drill would have been just as good as the kwrappy drill I used, even with a good bit. Still, it worked out great. I have the dial type as I didn't want to take a chance of corroding batteries. Works fine for me.

Have you looked at Hall's safes. They seem to have pretty impressible safes built in Sacramento and they might be around the same price. A couple of years ago I went in there. Unfortunately they were more than I could spend.
