On mine if you get a little too close for the eye relief, you can start seeing the internal threads of the main tube, and 3 Phillips screw heads. I looked through a Nikon pro staff I have too and you can see the same thing, but nowhere near as bad as this one. The leupolds you just see black around the reticle and that's it. Guess get what you pay for.

Got it in the mail. Looking through scope can see Phillips screw heads and threads around viewing area/reticle. Like the inside of the tube is illuminated. Really distracting, and is really sensitive to head position. Can also see where whoever put it together missed with their screw driver and gouged the crap out of it on the inside. I have a couple leupold vx2 scopes. They are deep black all around the opening/window with the reticle, can't see any screws or anything. Is this just a sign of a cheap scope?Comment

Heard about a lot of cancelled backorders on various stuff on /r/gundeals as well. Rifles and the like. My guess is with the Bass Pro takeover they're cutting the fat. Cancel all the back orders for really cheap stuff, reduce commissions payout for all ammo... bet discounted gift cards will be next.Comment

Update: So I was checking Cabela's website on Tuesday and saw that this scope was available again as "Limited Stock" for the regular price of $299.99.
I called Cabela's and after being elevated to a 2nd tier customer service rep and explaining that my backorder was cancelled earlier this month and now that they are back in stock I would like my scope for the sale price of $119.88. I was told that the system shows 1 in stock somewhere in their inventory but that they will not be receiving any more from Vortex because this model has been discontinued. I explained that I was able to put it in my cart and checkout with it. The rep said that the order would not go through and that if I do receive a confirmation that my order has processed to call them back and they will adjust my price to the $119.88 sale price.
Today I received my shipment e-mail and it is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. I promptly called Cabela's and they are going to adjust my purchase price to $119.88. I hope they continue to provide this level of customer service after Bass Pro Shop takes over.Comment
