Question: I heard that you will not sell Hollow Point Ammo to a Non-LEO.

Is this true? If so can you please clarify why?

        Thanks!

Same thing happened to me and yes it is true. I was also told to come in on Sunday and guess what? THEY ARE CLOSED on Sunday. How can you tell someone coming to buy something from your shop to come in Sunday if your closed? seriously don't know the days your own shop is closed? They lost my business I headed over to the new turners right after.

....And they won't do a PPT either

They may not be ready for prime time.
Take an ANTI shooting. They might enjoy themselves!!

Fail store. Or on the path of self destruction. Strange, I have those loads shipped to me and have bought some from retailers.

Aren't gun shops required by law to perform a PPT?

Interesting thread. Typical store-bashing threads have alternating "love them" and "hate them" posts indicating what could be a few angry and loud detractors, probably not a huge red flag.

Given that this thread and the other referenced thread appear to be 100% negative, that speaks volumes to me.

I went to crosshair wanting to buy some ranger ammo ,but no sales to non LEOs.
Bad policy! I was in and out in less than 90 seconds. Other than that they seemed nice.

Hmmm, Walmart and Big 5 will sell hollow point ammo to anyone above the age limit. Is there some law that I am unaware of and everyone else has been breaking?

No, gun stores are portals to parallel universes in which common sense is a rare commodity.

Hello CalGunners a message from Crosshairs.

The claim that CrosshairsUSA tactical gear does not sell Hollow Point ammunition to the general public is NOT true. Crosshairs has Winchester "white box" hollow point ammunition available and has had hollow point ammo ready for purchase now to the public. Due to a contractual obligation to our ammunition distributor Crosshairs will only sell "RANGER" ammunition to law enforcement personal. Crosshairs looks forward to serving your ammunition needs including selling Winchester "white box" hollow point ammunition to the responsible shooting public.

                            Thank You.

I think that location is cursed. There use to be a gun store in that same location about 12 years ago and it failed. The store was small, poorly stocked and the prices were way to high.

Playing devils advocate, as far as being required by law to do PPT's; they are a privately owned business who holds the right to refuse service to any person who they wish to not service..... So perhaps they are reserving the right to refuse service to anyone who wants to do a PPT.
