Good things take time, especially NFA items. Cadiz had a fire at their shop a few months ago. They are back up and doing production now.

The factory receivers are removed from the host firearms and new receivers are manufactured from flats.

We can refer you to several legal professionals who can draw up the NFA trust. Their fees start at about $200 for creation of a boilerplate NFA trust by a Legal Document Assistant. An attorney would charge $600-$1000 for a trust and be able to tailor the trust to your specific requirements.

The NFA tax stamp on an AOW is only $5 which is a bargain compared to the $200 stamp for a MG/SBR/SBS.

Doing an NFA transaction takes time since ATF must approve transfer of the firearm to your trust. This can take from 2-6 months depending upon ATF work load. Once approved by ATF, the firearm has to be processed through California's DROS system with an additional 10 day wait. Being patient is important.

Wow, that thing is awesome! But seriously, $500 shotgun (well, $700 these days) bumped up to $2500 simply because of NFA? What am I missing here? Why so expensive?

The factory receivers are removed from the host firearms and new receivers are manufactured from flats. The entire gas system has to be re-engineered. All of this is very costly for the one manufacturer in the US that is doing these. Add the cost of the host S12 that is now over $700 and you can see why these cost what they do.
