Customer service is not the best at Botach but you have to expect that ordering from a place with very low prices as there's always a tradeoff. I've had a few hiccups over the many years I've been ordering from them but it always worked out in the end. They do not have real time inventory on their website but neither do too many other online sites. You just have to stay on them to maintain status of your order. They even called me one time to let me know they had run out of an item I ordered.

I like the free sales tax code for us Kommiefornians; makes ordering from an instate retailer much more bearable.

Tried calling in an order on around 7:30 am Wed, June 3rd. I gave up on CS after about 3 calls and ordered online (item showed in stock). I got an email reply a couple of minutes later (just before 8:00 am) acknowledging order. I got another email just before noon that day saying my order shipped. I tracked it via UPS from SoCal to NorCal. It just got delivered around 1:45 pm on Friday, June 5th.

Only minor complaint is that they shipped the knife in its sheath in a plastic bubble envelope and w/o the original box or literature. Since this knife went out of prdxn a few months ago, it may their demo/display model. I'm not complaining since I spent HOURS on google and Yahoo searching for ANYBODY else to buy it from, given some of the bad reviews I've read about Botach at CGN. I could only find some place in Mexico that had it, so I decided to trust Botach again.

I only ordered once before from Botach and that was a couple of years ago and had no problems.

Their great prices and CA sales tax waiver makes them worth the rare risk for potential minor aggravation. Sign up for their email newsletter; they have regular clearance items that are CRAZY cheap.

I've bought from them dozens of times in the last few years. One order got badly bollixed, and that was stuff I got from browsing their web site, including some obscure stuff. All the others have been good - great prices, fast shipping.

The key is to only order stuff that's in stock. This can be hard to find out for normal stuff, as their phone support is poor, so I mostly order things that are on sale through their email alerts or their web page, and have never had problems with them.

These often happen to be the best deals, too.

If you're in a big hurry, or have a critical need for something, buy from someone else. My last order was an ARMS 40L BUIS, selling new for less than they go for used most places, and it got here in 3 days or so.

If it hadn't, well, I have other BUIS, and waiting longer or even canceling the order wouldn't have made any difference to me. As it is, I wish I had ordered 2...
