    Budget Long Range scopes.

    Long Range Shooters,

I am looking for a budget 200-500 dollars long range scope for my 30-06 Long Range Remington 700. Nikon FX 1000, are between $456-650 range, does anyone have experience with Mueller Optics? Could go with SWFA Super Sniper $250-$299, but new ones for the most part are all back ordered. What say you? A2

      athlon makes great budget glass.
this is a bit more, but you could shoot $90 worth of ammo in a day.
call doug or joel over at camerland and see if they can do a deal or what they recommend.
what kind of reticle do you want? another option is used off sniperhide.

I would vote for something from SWFA. I've used the 10x at 1000 yards with great success often.

Vortex PST Gen 1 is still a good optic for the price range. Used SWFA for a second vote, the 10X is a great value. Funny how they still hold their price in the used market. A fixed 10, 12, or 16X Leupold will serve you well too.

I bought a benchrest Mueller for rimfire and sent it right back, not clear.

I bought an athlon benchrest scope not happy with it.

Have you considered a used higher-end Vortex? If it's funky, Vortex will take care of it, their warranty program is awesome (personal experience there).

If you can find a used Redfield Revenge 6-18, it is a phenomenal scope.
Redfield claims that they are tough enough to withstand .338 Lapua recoil.
I have one on my Savage 11 Varmint .308.

It sounds like cost is important to you, but I would suggest putting that aside initially and focus on your other requirements. What is the maximum range you plan on shooting, what magnification will you need. Do you want FFP or SFP? What type of reticle are you looking for, zoom or fixed power. Once you have the answer to those questions, then you can narrow down the models that have those features and then include cost to determine which one is best over all.
