I was born and raised on MOA, Mrad is good I don't see them as better unless you are ranging with them. then the Mrad is better.
Do you say that just because the math is easier?

I got started with MOA and like MOA, its easy for me to call out shoots in MOA when I'm spotting. At 500 yards, wind is kicking you 10" right, I can call two MOA left. Its just what I've learned so far.

This is like the discussion between metric and imperial. They are just different units, and once you use them enough and start to see the world in them then there is no difference in functionality. However most of us never spend enough time thinking in units to have comfort using more than one unit.

Ask a machinist to switch to metric and he'll look at you funny. It's not because metric doesn't work, it's just fine but most machinists can eyeball something and say "oh yeah, that's 30thou" but they can't eyeball something and say "oh yeah, that's .75mm" without thinking about it.

You don't want to be thinking on the range, you want to be internalizing conditions, range information and scale. So you pick a scale and you stick with it until you know you can switch scales and not hose yourself.

        Think of it like this:
I use MOA. My finest "unit" is 1/4moa. This means if I want to make small changes I use 1/4 of my course understanding. With mrad your course understanding is 1mrad, but because that's so big (~3.5MOA) you really need 1/10th mrad for your fine unit. So your course to fine is 1/10, and that means your click detents are a bit too fine for me to notice in my hands, I have to read the dials. I don't like reading dials.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?
