I came across this thread and am excited that I may be able to stretch out my new 6.5 grendel and my friend is excited to see what his 6.5 creedmore gas gun can do. Is there a Tri County Rifle Club? Can we join? Can we shoot at the "Cuyama 1000yd range" as shown in Wikimapia? Any info would be greatly appreciated

Come on out on September 20 for the Palma match which is shot at 800, 900, and 1000 yards. Shooting starts around 8am so get there about 730. We usually finish between 12:00 and 1:00pm.

Dont be afraid if you are new at it. I've only been out the past three months and am hooked. It was my first time shooting past the steel at 550yards at the 5 dogs range. As long as you are sighted in and can figure out your dope to 1000 you will be fine. I was able to be on target my first shot just by knowing my velocity and then using a ballistics calculator. It will be $10 as a non member. Just bring your rifle, ammo, shooting mat, safety equipment, and some water. If you any questions message me.

Yes, we have a portable blast shield for magnum rifles and brake users. We'll put you on either end of the line so everyone won't hate you.

I'm working in Texas this week so I don't know if I will get there on Saturday.
