    Correct in fact you should hang parts up to let it drip dry after dunk in oil for 24 hours before using putting it together.

    Also you have to make sure your parts are rinsed in boiling hot water after the Parkerizing and let to hang for a few seconds for the water to evaporate off before the oil dunk. If there is any surface water still on the parts before the oil dunk you will get rust. Water displacing oil can only displace so much water before it becomes ineffective.

      You guys are making this sound complicated. I don't care what anybody else does. I brush on motor oil and wrap it up in a greasy old towel. When I'm ready to shoot it I wipe it off and clean the bore. Done.

          This is a simple process that gets over complicated. Yes there are certain steps you should take and precautions you should follow, but in the end it isn't rocket science. It's just science.
