So I picked up a lightly used lr308 and finally got it to the range today.
As with any new to me semi auto rifle I will check it out with a no go gauge. All was well.
Also as a new to me firearm I will load one round first, shoot, then two rounds and shoot. After that its go time.
So after I shoot the first round (glass was already pretty well sighted) I realize my catcher was empty. Huh.
Look in chamber thinking extractor problem and not there either. Huh.
It was stuck in the bcg face and did not want to come out.
Wrestled the lower off and was able to finally get the brass out. Inspected the brass and nothing out of the ordinary jumped out at me.
Same exact issue on the second round. Decided to pack it up.
At home with dummy rounds it cycled fine. I compared this bcg to another I have and tensions seemed similar on extractors. My next move was to use the other bcg and see if that helps.
Never had issues like this before with any ar15s and the other dpms pattern 308 is pretty new with no drama.
Brass was on good shape. Reloads that have been proven to be reliable and not especially hot.
Would really appreciate some ideas for what to look for.
Thanks, Paul
