You should be using a center drill to get proper location, then drill undersized about 1/64" and then a reamer to get the hole to proper size.
If you do it this way in a milling machine, a jig is not needed or even helpful.

Using a mill and a jig, these holes still came out wrong on two of my frames. I can only imagine the jig was off.

Anyone know someone in the SF Bay Area than can help 'move' the holes. Either with drilling out the hole and putting in a bushing or welding it up and redrilling?

Can't be done legally. You need to fix and complete on your own.

Well I used a jig I found on gunbroker, not a ares one. That's why I bought an ares jig to compare them. Maybe the.measurement are off.

I'd like to borrow someone's jig and compare the hole pattern.

If you have a Mill, you should be able to compare Measurements on your jig with a BLUEPRINT which is what should be done anyway before starting. (Trust Nothing).

You're not going to be able to see an error of .001"

The issue is using a jig without drill and ream bushings, the tolerances are to tight to be performed on a convetional mill without some serious technique. Compensation for back lash and etc. Those holes to be within spec need to be done on a fixture with drill and ream bushings.
Can you get away with just using a jig and a drill bit?? Sure but I can assure you the holes will not be within tollerence

You can with a coax indicator or even a tenths indicator in the chuck.

Just wanted to thank everyone, I solved my hammer problem...the original hole was drilled too high. I resealed it and used the ares jig. Problem solved. I tried to save my self some money by buying someone jig and ended up paying more in the long run.
