Question on Engraving an Anodized Lower

that is highly dependent on the machine, and price.

you won't find a cheap job on a high powered laser, nor a cheap job on a sufficiently powered laser to do tons of passes.

the laser engravers offering their services here do not / can not take it to that depth for the price they are offering the service at.

Ok. I guess I got a smokin deal out here in Idaho because it was a whole $25 per lower to get deep enough to satisfy atf requirements.

I do think it is prudent to ask any engraver if they can meet the requirements and perhaps to even see proof of work to make sure.

There is indeed a lot of laser artwork out there.

when they used to run build parties here in San Jose, laser engraving by a calguns member just through the anodizing was $50.

When I laser engraved at Sure Shot for the basic package (Make, Model, S/N, etc.), invoice indicated "deep" engraving.

Probably any artwork would be less than "deep".

Contact a local trophy shop.

I recently had a serial number put on a lower & have no intentions of reanodized. I also had it done while I was there with lpk installed. Took less than 30mins. Cost $20. Looks great & mine was engraved.

Just be sure it is ideally .003" deep and 1/16" tall as per ATF s/n rules.
