So I got to building my lower last night. This is my third lower build and I've never had any issues so I'm puzzled. Installed the trigger and hammer, spring are facing the right way, but the disconnector hangs on the hammer and pulling the trigger does not release the hammer. If I push down on the disconnector, it released the hammer and then I can pull the trigger and release the hammer. Hoping you guys can help me diagnose my trigger problem. This is on a 80% with a regular mil spec trigger group.

I have a friend that recently had a similar issue.. the forward (hammer) pin holes were out of spec causing the hang up.
I would take some precise measurements of pin location, and ensure that they are in the right spot.Comment

Simple check is if you have another rifle around with a trigger that functions properly, pop it in and see if it works. That could be a simple way to rule out the holes being out of spec versus an issue with the trigger components...Comment

Your disconnector is out of time.
It could be bad parts or the lower is out of spec.
Easy fix is to re-time the disconnector to that specific lower and fire control parts.Last edited by ar15barrels; 03-23-2014, 11:06 PM.Randall Rausch

I had the same problem on my poly80...
If youre 100% sure that your lpk is installed correctly, it could be your trigger hole is slightly too small or shifted too far foreward. it could also be the floor of your lower is not deep enough, or trigger/hammer pins out of spec.
These were my issues which created the same problem, YMMV

Took a leap and went to town with the file and grinder. I was able to get everything to function properly. It was very close and required a small amount of material to come off the tooth of the disconnector and a small amount off the top of the trigger assembly by the safety as that wouldn't engage correctly either. All good now and waiting for the bolts to come in and then off to the range to sight insigpicComment
