I can see you knew it wasn't but maybe you didn't understand the full scope of how much an investment a good CNC machine is. and nothing wrong with wanting one or willingness to learn. This was merely my way of saying be aware of what you are getting yourself into.
In reality though if you want a CNC that will fit in a garage, do 90% of what a full size machine will do, and cost significantly less. Look for a Bridgeport CNC Boss 9 control. it's a manual tool changer machine but it will do full 2.5D machine work with little trouble, used they go for $10K or less and usually come with a bunch of tooling.

Not the fastest machine nor the easiest to run but they can be upgraded for little money to a better control. Mach 3 DYI controls work great on stuff like this.
