it's not the time they would save, it's the time they would waste tweaking a program. especially on something that is only esthetic.
Now I'm in full agreement that it should be corrected in the programming and wouldn't take much to do. But some places do not have the attention to detail that other shops do.Comment

That's what I first thought too when I saw that uneven line. I tried using the tip of a knife to see if I could lift an edge and there wasn't any material I could roll over. It's definitely a missed clean up cutter path.A good rifle build isn't cheap, but a bad one can be expensive!

Hit it with a 2" flap wheel in a die grinder and then krylon the whole lower.

Today I was able to speak to the "boss" who said he's been out of town for about a couple of weeks but is returning in a couple of days. He told me he called his staff to look at the remaining inventory of the production run made around the time of my serial number to see if it's a one time issue or if its a production run issue. His purpose he said was so as to not send me another lower with the same cosmetic flaw if I decide to replace it. Based on what has been posted online I would say it appears to be a production flaw on other lowers made by them. I was asked if I could wait until Monday so that after the owner returns so they would have firm answers for me on what I would want to do.A good rifle build isn't cheap, but a bad one can be expensive!
